How the Design Process Works
- Upload your references: Submit 1–5 clear photos, artwork files, or inspiration images.
- Tell us what you want: Provide your preferred shape, colors, style, wording, approximate rug size, and any special requests.
- Receive your first preview: We will create one personalized design concept and send it to the email address associated with your order.
- Request revisions: Tell us what you would like adjusted. We will continue making reasonable revisions within the original design direction until you are satisfied.
- Approve your design: Once you are happy with the preview, confirm your approval.
- Receive the final artwork: We will email your high-resolution final digital design file.
- Optional custom production: If you want the approved design made into a physical product, order an eligible custom item from the Portrait Rugs Collection and follow the $29 credit instructions provided by A Print Nest.
Photo and File Requirements
Please upload 1–5 clear, well-lit, high-resolution images. The main subject should be clearly visible and should not be heavily blurred, cropped, filtered, or covered by another object.
- Original photos are preferred over screenshots or social-media downloads.
- Upload clear front-facing and alternate-angle photos when available.
- Include the full area you would like incorporated into the design.
- For portraits, make sure the face, eyes, hair, ears, and other important features are clearly visible.
- For pets, make sure distinctive markings, fur colors, ears, eyes, and facial features are visible.
- Upload the highest-resolution artwork file available.
- If multiple subjects are submitted, clearly identify which subjects should appear in the design.
- Clearly identify your preferred main photo.
- Inspiration images communicate your preferred direction and will not be copied exactly.
Final results depend on the resolution, angle, lighting, visibility, and overall quality of the submitted files. Details that are not visible in the source image might not be reproducible accurately.
Unlimited Revision Policy
This service includes one initial custom design concept and unlimited reasonable revisions to that concept until you are satisfied .
Included revisions may involve:
- Color and tone adjustments
- Text, name, date, wording, or font adjustments
- Changes to subject positioning, size, or spacing
- Background and decorative-element adjustments
- Refinements to the custom outer shape
- Reasonable corrections to visible subject details
- Composition refinements within the original design direction
To help us complete revisions efficiently, please combine your requested changes into one clear message whenever possible.
Unlimited revisions apply to the original design direction and the requirements submitted with your order. They do not include an unlimited number of completely different concepts.
The following may require a new design order or an additional fee:
- Changing to a completely different theme or visual style
- Requesting an entirely new composition
- Replacing the main photo after substantial work is completed
- Adding new people, pets, or other main subjects
- Creating multiple alternate concepts for comparison
- Requesting another finished version for a different purpose
- Restarting with substantially different instructions
If a request falls outside the original scope, we will explain the additional work and confirm any extra fee before proceeding.
How the $29 Portrait Rug Production Credit Works
After approving the final design, you may apply the full $29 design-service value toward the custom production of that same design on one eligible product from the Portrait Rugs Collection.
The $29 credit is tied to the specific approved artwork created through this design-service order. It is not a general store credit and cannot be used for an unrelated design or product.
- The physical product must be an eligible custom item from the Portrait Rugs Collection.
- The production order must use the same final design approved through this design-service order.
- Only one $29 production credit is issued per design-service order.
- The credit may be applied to one qualifying custom-production order.
- The full $29 credit remains available when an eligible new customer paid $1 using code FIRSTDESIGN1.
- The credit applies to the eligible product price only.
- The credit does not apply to shipping charges, taxes, or gratuities.
- The credit has no cash value and cannot be refunded as cash.
- The credit cannot be transferred to another customer.
- The credit cannot be duplicated or used more than once.
- The credit cannot be combined with another design-fee credit.

Design Turnaround
The first design preview is typically delivered within 2–3 business days after we receive all required photos, text, and instructions.
Revision turnaround depends on the number and complexity of the requested changes. Each revision round is typically completed within 1–2 business days, although complex adjustments may require additional time.
Unclear files, missing information, complex requests, or delayed customer responses may extend the completion date.
Final Digital File
After approval, the final high-resolution artwork will be delivered digitally to the email address associated with your order. No physical item will be mailed as part of this design-service purchase.
The final file format and dimensions may be selected according to the design shape, proportions, intended size, and production requirements. Editable working files, layered files, source files, font files, unused versions, and alternate concepts are not included unless agreed separately.
Please review all names, dates, spelling, colors, subject placement, and other visible details carefully before giving final approval.
Designed With Custom Production in Mind
Custom shaped rugs and wall rugs have different production requirements from standard digital artwork. Our designer may recommend practical adjustments to the outline, spacing, or level of detail.
- Very narrow sections may need to be widened.
- Deep inner cuts and sharp corners may need to be softened.
- Small text or fine details may need to be enlarged or simplified.
- Space may be added around important faces or design elements.
- Thin decorative elements may need to be thickened.
- The final cut line may require production-specific adjustment.
Color and Screen Differences
Colors may appear slightly different across phones, monitors, printers, and rug materials. Screen brightness, display settings, lighting, print methods, pile direction, and material texture can affect color appearance.
A digital preview cannot guarantee an exact color match on every screen or physical product. Reasonable color adjustments to the digital design are included under the unlimited revision policy before approval.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Because this is a personalized digital service, cancellation may be requested before design work begins. Once design work has started or the first preview has been delivered, the design-service payment is non-refundable.
If you are not satisfied with the first preview, you may continue requesting reasonable revisions within the original design scope.
The $29 production credit is a conditional promotional credit toward an eligible Portrait Rugs Collection custom-production order. It is not a cash refund of the design-service payment.
Customer Response and Final Approval
Please respond to preview and revision emails in a timely manner. Delayed responses may extend the overall completion date.
Once the final preview is approved, the design will be considered complete. Changes requested after final approval and delivery may require a new design order or an additional fee.
Submitted Content and Usage Rights
By placing an order, you confirm that you own or have permission to use all submitted photos, artwork, text, characters, and other materials.
A Print Nest reserves the right to decline requests that may violate copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other applicable rights.
Inspiration images may communicate a preferred mood, color palette, composition, or general direction, but copyrighted artwork, branded characters, or another artist’s design will not be copied exactly.

Shipping
We ship from our facility in El Monte, California, USA, primarily via USPS Ground Advantage.
Production: Custom orders ship within 72 hours after design approval.
Standard U.S. Shipping: Free standard shipping is available to most U.S. addresses. USPS Ground Advantage typically takes 2–5 business days after shipment.
Remote & Special Areas: Additional shipping charges may apply to remote or special-delivery locations, including some destinations in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other extended-delivery areas. If an additional charge is required, we will contact you before shipment.
Delivery estimates may vary depending on destination, carrier operations, weather conditions, and other service disruptions.
Refund & Return Policy
Custom / made-to-order items are not eligible for return or exchange due to change of mind, except in cases of defects, incorrect items, or transit damage.
If your item arrives defective, incorrect, or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will review the issue and arrange an appropriate replacement, refund, or other resolution. For approved defect, incorrect-item, or transit-damage claims, we cover the applicable shipping costs.
For eligible non-custom items, returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery if the item is unused and in its original condition and packaging. Customers are responsible for return shipping on non-defective returns. If a prepaid return label is provided, the actual label cost may be deducted from the refund.
If an eligible returned item requires repackaging or cleaning, a fee of up to 10%, capped at $25, may apply. No such fee applies to defective, incorrect, or transit-damaged items.
Approved refunds are issued after the returned item is received and inspected. Banks and payment providers may require additional processing time before the credit appears.

Upload an individual, couple, family, or pet-and-owner photo and we’ll transform it into a custom portrait wall rug with recognizable facial detail, balanced composition, and a finish designed for wall display. Every order includes a digital design proof before production.
Signature Organic Pebble Shape
Every portrait wall rug is designed in our signature Organic Pebble Shape. The outline is not a fixed template: its curves are individually adjusted around the approved portrait composition, so each piece has its own balanced silhouette. The selected size refers to the longest side of the finished wall rug.
Plush Faux Silk, Made for Wall Display
Each wall rug is made from premium 1350 GSM faux silk rug material with an approximate thickness of 12 mm. Your approved design is dye-sublimation printed, hand-cut, and finished with neat overlock stitching in California. It is intended for decorative indoor wall display; hanging hardware is not included.
